Program Overview

This 500-hour Certificate Program will provide you with an integrative, expert-level education in vinyasa yoga technique, anatomy, teaching methodology, and comparative philosophy. It provides the highest caliber yoga education available by giving you the tools to teach skillfully, think critically, and uncover a teaching path that is true to you. It’s designed for students of every lineage who want to deepen their practice and teaching.

Expert-Level Curriculum Designed for Results

With countless options in today’s training environment, Jason’s teaching and curriculum stand out. His teaching has been recognized by the most prestigious national and international yoga conferences and publications for more than a decade. Jason is recognized as a “teacher’s teacher,” and has partnered with leading yoga institutions like Yoga Journal and Yogaglo to create teacher training content. As part of his commitment to accuracy and a rational approach to yoga, the anatomy components of this program were co-created by Jason and Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Dr. Paul Roache. The entire curriculum is taught by Jason, and presented in a relevant, approachable, and honest way.

Built for Convenience

In order to complete the entire program and qualify to earn your 500-hr certification, you need to complete all three modules. But, the program is extremely flexible and can be tailored to fit your schedule. First, the modules DO NOT need to be taken in order. Each 100-hour module is fully contained and you can start with any one. Second, you can take as long as you need to complete all 3 modules. If it’s not possible to complete all 3 modules in one year, you can spread them out over as many years as you need. The modules will continue to be offered at least once-a-year, if not more. Third, you’re welcome to join 1 or 2 modules without committing to all 3. If you want an immersive experience to deepen your practice and sharpen your teaching, feel free to register for only 1 or 2 of the modules.

The 3 Training Modules

Each 2-week module goes beyond the basics and provides a full immersion in practice and study. The modules contain anatomy, asana technique, injury management, and philosophical inquiry. As a practitioner, you’ll explore more challenging postures, commit to seated meditation, and cultivate more refinement in your practice. As a teacher, you will learn to develop sequences that create greater balance in each region, help students manage their injuries, and instruct your students in clear, accessible language. The space between the modules will allow you to return to your daily life and integrate the new information, experience, and inspiration. You will have homework assignments between the modules to help stay inspired and engaged.

What to Expect

Each morning is dedicated to your practice. We will begin with 15–30 minutes of seated meditation that will allow you to settle in to your practice and bear witness to whatever is present for you. The seated practice is followed by a strong, intelligently sequenced vinyasa practice that will allow you to experience your physical edge and grow as a practitioner. You’ll simultaneously deepen your practice by working on advanced postures and their modifications, and enhance your teaching by assisting and adjusting your peers. You’ll learn to work with your own body more skillfully and efficiently, which will serve you in your practice for years to come. Each afternoon is dedicated to becoming a more knowledgeable and insightful teacher. You will work on every aspect of teaching, from learning greater depth in anatomy, injury prevention, and intelligent sequencing for each region of the body to using purposeful, impactful language when you provide instructions. The afternoon will reflect the practice theme of the day and you will learn to teach the advanced level classes that you’re practicing. You will also generate sequences and teach segments of classes to receive Jason’s direct feedback and guidance.
