Breath is Life

An afternoon of breath and connection…

Breath is Life is an invitation to listen inward to the wisdom of your heart and connect with your inner truth. This active meditation practice is designed to promote access to deeper layers of your emotional and energetic body for self-connection and healing.  Whether you’re new to breathwork or an experienced practitioner, this practice will meet you wherever you are in your journey.

The style of pranayama breathwork we will be doing is not about forcing “results” or even having a specific goal; rather, it is an opportunity to remember and allow what is already inside to surface.  We’ll use the life-giving power of the breath to move stuck energy, clear old patterns, and release what is no longer in service of our lives.

Prior to our session, please journal on these prompts:

-Write down all the ways you love yourself, then share this list with someone close to you before the event.

-How much of your concept of love is defined by what your parents showed you?

-How do these learned concepts show up in your life and relationships?

What to Expect:

    • Opening circle - doors close at 1:10pm as this is a closed container

    • Guided connection work

    • A full breathwork session, followed by time for integration

    • Closing circle and optional sharing

What to Bring:

    • A yoga mat or blanket to lie on

    • An eye mask or something to cover your eyes

    • A journal and pen

    • A water bottle

    • Comfortable, cozy layers (the body can cool down during breathwork)

About Alex Bedner:
At age 11, I first discovered the power of breath through playing the trombone. Over my twenty-three years of studying and playing professionally, I spent countless hours thinking and practicing the perfect inhalation/exhalation for a given musical moment.

On that journey of studying and using my breath to create sound, I experienced a remarkable sense of inner peace - I mistakenly thought it was playing the music. When I first experienced breathwork, it was the first time I connected the dots that breath can open deeper doorways to self-connection and self-healing.

That led me to become a student of David Elliot, world-renowned author, teacher, and healer, and have completed his comprehensive Healer Training program. From that moment, I have been using breathwork to explore my inner realms, while gaining clarity and inner knowing in service of becoming the fullest expression of who I am.  I am honored to share this beautiful practice with you, in community!
